Starting in October 2013, the Affordable Care Act (or health care reform law) is creating a new way to get health coverage. It’s called the Health Insurance Marketplace (also known as exchanges). It lets people go online to compare and buy health insurance. They can choose from more than one insurance company at the marketplace.
It’s an option, but not the only one.
There are three places where people can get health insurance:
Their work (if their job offers health care)
