37% of parents with children under 18 have no life insurance, survey finds

More than a third (37%) of parents with children younger than 18 do not have life insurance, according to a new study from Bankrate.com. And about one-third of the parents who do have life insurance have no more than $100,000 of protection.
While about 6 in 10 Americans say they own life insurance, nearly half of them have insufficient coverage to address the financial needs of their family if they were to die, according to the latest Bankrate Money Pulse Survey.
